SUMMARY:The Historic Trees of Litchfield Van Tour
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, October 24\, 2026 \nLet the oldest and largest trees of Litchfield tell the tales of our town’s rich history. This van tour will take you to notable trees\, such as Wolcott’s Sycamore\, the Colvocoresses Oak\, the rare Franklin Tree\, and “The Biggest Tree” in Litchfield. Education Directors Kate Zullo from the Litchfield Historical Society and Carrie Szwed from White Memorial will be your hosts. At each location\, gather around the trees to marvel at them while learning about their amazing cultural and natural history. 10am-12noon. We will board the 15-passenger van in the parking lot of White Memorial\, 80 Whitehall Rd. Space is limited to 12 people and advanced registration is required. \nTo register: Historic Trees Registration \nWhite Memorial and/or Litchfield Historical Society Members: $10/person\, Non-members: $20/person \nThis program is part of America’s 250th in Litchfield

DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, October 24\, 2026 \nKelly Orr and Gerri Griswold lead you on a night hike on the cusp of the full Hunter Moon. Because the peak occurs just past midnight heading into Monday\, the most stunning and brightest views will be during the evenings of Saturday\, October 24 and Sunday\, October 25. Wander our beautiful trails along the Bantam River. Listen for owls and be on the lookout for our resident beavers who always make a splash during these adventures. Please bring a headlamp or flashlight. Meet in the A. B.
