DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, November 7\, 2026 \nFor grades 6 – 12 \nFollow in the footsteps of noted mycologist Violetta White Delafield (sister of Alain & May) and become a nature explorer for the day! Armed with a sketchbook and pencils\, we’ll head out to the same forests Violetta did a hundred years ago to hunt for fascinating plants\, strange fungi\, wildlife\, and beautiful landscapes. Learn how explorers and adventurers recorded their discoveries before cameras existed and create your own field journal along the way. \nNo drawing experience needed. This adventure is all about exploring\, observing\, and having fun outdoors. We will supply sketchbooks\, and pencils! This is a drop-off teen program for grades 6-12. 10:00 am – 12:00 pm\, Meet in the A. B. Ceder Room. \nThe program is FREE but you must pre-register: Artistry in Nature Teen Trek Registration \nDonations will be accepted to help defray the Conservation Center’s programming expenses. \n

You and your child will explore each new bud and flower\, climb each rock and log\, and probably get a little dirty in the process!  This program is geared towards children ages newborn-5 years old and will encourage them to get hands on in the outdoors.  Dress for the weather\, we will go rain or shine! 9:30 a.m.\, Meet in the Museum.
