Sponsored by The Connecticut Forest & Park Association \nThe Ron and Joan Jones Memorial Hiking Series: Circumnavigating Five Ponds \nFrom the Beaver Pond Tea House to Plunge Pool\, the Overlook\, Memorial Rock\, and the Boulder Field\, the Five Ponds complex at The White Memorial Foundation is one of its jewels! \nThis will be a guided hike of “medium” challenge- a well-manicured trails with no significant up-and-down pitches.(except for the Boulder Field and it’s worth it!) \nCome prepared with appropriate footwear\, a small backpack\, plenty of water\, rain gear\, sunscreen\, insect repellant or head net\, snacks/light lunch\, and binoculars.  Expect to be on the trail with us for three to four hours covering four miles. \nOnly heavy weather cancels. 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.\, Meet at the Five Ponds Trail Head\, 300 Straits Turnpike (Routes 63/61)  Morris. Along the way\, we’ll pause to draw whatever catches our eye: crooked trees\, tiny flowers\, interesting textures\, animal tracks\, or moments of quiet beauty. You don’t need to “know how to draw”—just bring curiosity. This program is about slowing down\, noticing the small things\, and letting nature be your guide. Sketching becomes a way to explore\, wonder\, and see the world a little differently. We will supply sketchbooks\, pencils\, and charcoal\, but feel free to bring any other supplies you wish.
