There was once a little brown bat who couldn’t sleep days – he kept waking up and looking at the world. Before long he began to see things differently from other bats, who from dawn to sunset never opened their eyes. The Bat Poet is a story of how he tried to make the other bats see the world his way.
This charming story is perfect for kids of all ages. It is beautifully illustrated by Maurice Sendack. Each participant will receive a copy of The Bat Poet. We’ll enjoy a cozy pot luck supper and read this shining jewel of a book to each other! A Powerpoint presentation of Sendack’s illustrations will accompany the reading.
This program is limited to 12. Bring a dish, BYOB, and your own place setting. Dessert and Cider will be provided and of course your very own copy of The Bat Poet to take home and cherish! 6:00 pm, A. B. Ceder Room, Members: $15.00, Non-members: $30.00, Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. Call 860-567-0857 or register online.
