Trails Day is a two-day national event (the first weekend in June) that pays tribute to all the wonderful trails our country has to offer. Trails and open spaces have become the places to escape to and enjoy in recent challenging times. Sponsored by The Connecticut Forest & Park Association
The Ron and Joan Jones Memorial Hiking Series: Circumnavigating Five Ponds
From the Beaver Pond Tea House to Plunge Pool, the Overlook, Memorial Rock, and the Boulder Field, the Five Ponds complex at The White Memorial Foundation is one of its jewels!
This will be a guided hike of “medium” challenge- a well-manicured trails with no significant up-and-down pitches.(except for the Boulder Field and it’s worth it!)
Come prepared with appropriate footwear, a small backpack, plenty of water, rain gear, sunscreen, insect repellant or head net, snacks/light lunch, and binoculars. Expect to be on the trail with us for three to four hours covering four miles.
Only heavy weather cancels. 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Meet at the Five Ponds Trail Head, 300 Straits Turnpike (Routes 63/61) Morris. Please pre-register: Circumnavigating Five Ponds Registration
