A Boxing Day Visit to Catlin Woods with Gerri Griswold
December 26 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am
Saturday, December 26, 2026
Boxing Day isn’t just a day for Santa to catch his breath! Boxing Day began centuries ago when lords of the manor and aristocrats typically distributed “Christmas boxes” often filled with small gifts to their household servants and employees in recognition of good service throughout the year. These boxes were, in essence, holiday bonuses. Begin your day with an easy hike over the Bantam River and through the beautiful old growth forest of Catlin Woods. Return to the Museum for coffee and a box from us for the love and support you give White Memorial throughout the year! 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m., Meet in the Museum, FREE….Donations will be accepted to help defray the Conservation Center’s programming expenses.
