Connecticut Butterfly Atlas Project version 2.0 with Laura Saucier, CT DEEP
November 19 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Thursday, November 19, 2026
In 1995, a group of butterfly enthusiasts and researchers initiated an ambitious project-Connecticut Butterfly Atlas Project- to document which butterfly species historically occurred, and which continued to persist, in Connecticut. Thirty years later, the landscape of our state has seen many changes, including development, continued reforestation and a changing climate. Given CT DEEP’s mandate to protect the biological diversity of our state, we are initiating Connecticut Butterfly Atlas Project version 2.0 to compare and contrast thirty years of landscape changes on our butterfly fauna.
About Laura Saucier: Laura Saucier is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and has been with the CT DEEP Wildlife Division for over 25 years. She works on invertebrate conservation issues, with a focus on documenting endangered or declining species and their habitats.
6:00 p.m., A. B. Ceder Room, FREE….Donations will be accepted to help defray the Conservation Center’s programming expenses. Please pre-register:
