Joy to the World: Holiday Music for Guitar and Mandolin with Judy Handler and Mark Levesque

The Conservation Center is delighted to have Judy and Mark back to perform this lovely holiday concert.
Enchanting instrumental renditions of traditional and contemporary holiday music.
A variety of lively tunes and lyrical melodies with an international flavor.
Audiences respond enthusiastically to the charming sound of the guitar & mandolin as Judy & Mark play their own arrangements of beautiful, inspiring holiday music from many cultures.
Judy & Mark offer interesting commentary about the origins of holiday music from the U.S., England, Ireland, Wales, Puerto Rico, Spain, Ukraine, songs of Hanukkah and themes from the Nutcracker. Some singalongs will be included on the program and a chance to join in on rhythm instruments.
As a husband and wife duo, Judy & Mark, have performed over 2,500 concerts together over the past 30 years throughout the United States & Europe. They create inspiring programs of music for guitar & mandolin as well as two guitars. Their friendly & entertaining way of chatting with audiences, immediately makes a personal and authentic connection.
Judy has a M.M. in classical guitar performance from the Hartt School of Music and is Co-Founder of the Connecticut Guitar Society. With Mark as the audio engineer, she recorded the music for Hal Leonard’s 2023 publication of A Modern Approach to Classical Guitar Book 3, 2nd Edition by renowned guitarist & educator, Charles Duncan. Mark has studied with prominent guitarists, researched music from around the world and played with numerous groups around New England.
Judy & Mark are founding members of the New American Mandolin Ensemble which formed in 2013, has performed internationally and released a CD in 2017. They run a teaching studio for private lessons and groups in Vernon, CT as well as a recording studio for guitarists.
