The Ron and Joan Jones Memorial Hikes: Morning Ramble to Laurel Hill, Cat Swamp, and Apple Hill

Start your day with a trip up the Laurel Hill Trail to visit spectacular Cat Swamp. Wind your way through a carpet of Princess Pine to the swamp where sightings of Wood Ducks, otters, herons, beavers, and hawks are commonplace. Then, head up to what Gerri refers to as White Memorial’s “Jewel in the Crown”, Apple Hill. Be on the lookout for Vultures and Eagles soaring overhead. Wear sturdy, waterproof shoes. A hiking pole might be useful. Some water and a snack might come in handy too! 10:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m., Meet at the Laurel Hill parking area located at 340 East Shore Road. Limited to 20 guests.
